ARKON Shipping GmbH & Co. KG, Haren (Ems) was founded in 1995 by Mr. Torsten Westphal and the two Haren-based shipowners. Reederei Wessels and Reederei Jüngerhans. As of June 2007, Mr. Torsten Westphal and Mr. Thomas Cord established ARKON Shipping & Projects GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg.
Today ARKON is responsible for an exclusive fleet of more than 130 Vessels. About 60 newbuildings will join the fleet within the next 3 years.
ARKON has been appointed Commercial Agent in Europe for the Intermarine Group (Industrial Maritime Carriers), one of the leading carrier of heavy lift and project cargoes worldwide.

People

ARKON's success is certainly not only driven by its management and a clear structure of the company. About 30 well educated, ambitious and skilled employees are offering their expertise. Most of the key persons have been with the company for more than 10 years. The clients' business is treated by the teams as if it were 'their own business'.
